I just got back from an upscale video/V.O. studio in NYC, and the 'talent' was using ( I was told) an R49. It looked like a Neumann U87 body style. I was too busy to check it out. Does anyone know anything about this mic? Not listed on the Neumann site. Freakin' killa sound, though Thanks, EjA

Maybe a Neumann M49? I'm not familiar with any high-end mics carrying the "R49" designation. Did it look like ?

Thanks, Chris. Nope it didn't look like the TLM 103 style body, it looked more like a U87--with a longer body then the picture you provided. I thought I might have mis-heard the 'R' as well. I'm clueless. Maybe it wasn't a Neumann after all. Anyone?
