Is there anyone on the forum that has found a way of scripting the windows explorer back as a dock-able window in Reaper. It used to be an option in the Media Explorer but that feature was removed about a year ago. This wouldn't necessarily need to have all the preview function of the media explorer. It would simply be a dock able windows explorer within reaper so the user could browse through files like they would in windows.

Not possible, this is not the kind of functions accessible via reascript. You can consider having a small windows explorer set as Always on Top so you can view its content even if reaper is in focus. I use a free soft called Windows Top for such things. I also use it for other kind of window lile a notepad.

You should be able to do it with a Lua gui I'm using this for a midi browser but it will show all files and will also play the media/pics.
